I'm sure that you have heard tis from many others, but I wanted to share some of my memories of your mother. I received about four letters a year from your mother encouraging me with scripture and telling me about her cats. I always really appreciated the letters I wish I could tell her that. Whenever I was around her she would always come up and get a hug and make me feel like I was important to her. She was a special lady and I miss her. Jim

Mike and I always tried to visit Aunt Dottie whenever we were in Coeur d'Alene (which wasn't often enough) and one warm day when she hadn't been living on Second Street very long we decided that it was a good day for a root beer float, and we would go by to make sure she was home so we could get one for her too! She was home and wasn't real interested in the float--she said she hadn't had one in years. She resisted but we insisted! Needless to say, she had forgotten how yummy (her word!) a root beer float was! I don't think we ever stopped in to visit her again without bringing root beer floats. She was always so happy to see us at her door--and I'm sure it was for the company--but I suspect the floats had a little to do with it too! We will miss her so much. I will forever think of her when indulging in a root beer float!

Tom, Brett Pat and families: left a message a few days ago but it disappeared, so ...... So enjoyed my visits with Dot, we would talk and laugh about days gone by. We had such fun remembering the chocolate cake and the toothpicks, and not one of you had to do the dishes!!! She was such fun to visit and I will miss our Fridays together. I had an opportunity to see her after she moved to Heritage and she walked me to the door.....what a dear lady. Thank you for sharing her with me for all our Fridays. Tom, Brett, Pat and Families, God bless you all for the love and care you lavished on your Mother, Aunt Dottie. So many of us are so far away, and there's much that we missed or couldn't be part of, but we are thankful to you, and for you, for being the loving sons and families that you are. Aunt Dottie was (is) truly a one of a kind, class act. I am sad to say goodbye, but only a little. I'm glad to know it's only for a short time, and that 'glad' far outweighs the sad. Dear Tom, Brett, and Pat, I am so sorry for your loss, and for mine. But I take solace in the knowledge that this parting is but for a season. How well I remember living with you all in my Jr. year of high school. Your Mom was my Mom. What a special, kind, precious person Dottie was to me then, and later when my Mom lay dying.
