Obituary of Evan Mychal Larkin
Please share a memory of Evan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Evan Mychal entered this world on April 20, 1993 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, born to Lori Larkin and Scott Smith. He was a bundle of joy and was welcome by his Mother Lori, Grandparents Clay and Deanna Larkin, Aunt Alison and Uncle Jeff McArthur. Also welcoming him were his Godmother and Godfather, Virginia and Ron Nelson. He kept us all busy and proud. They moved from Post Falls to Coeur d’ Alene, ID during his early years. He was always curious and liked to figure out what made toys operate. He really enjoyed working with LEGO’s, creating all kinds of forts and castles. As the years went by, they moved to the Harrison, ID area where they lived for many years. He attended Kootenai Schools and played football for a time. Later on, they moved back to Coeur d’Alene, and he became involved with remote controlled race cars, becoming very proficient in setting them up, racing and repairing them. He also enjoyed RC rock climbers and helicopters with Uncle Jeff. He attended Post Falls New Vision High School & Post Falls High School. Evan was really excited when he got his learners permit and driver’s license. Evan worked at One Shot Charlie’s and Gateway Marina in Harrison, the Iron Horse in Coeur d’ Alene along with GW Hunters and Capone’s in Post Falls. He enjoyed going to the auto races at Stateline with Grandpa, and some fishing trips. He learned how to tie flies and enjoyed working on them. His mother worked very hard to keep them going and sacrificed a lot over the years. He was always willing to help folks, never expecting to be paid. He respected and honored Senior Citizens, and had a quick smile for them. He loved his music and usually was “plugged in”. Evans life ended way too soon, but God was ready to welcome him home in his arms. He will be deeply missed, and fondly remembered by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Evan is survived by his mother, Lori Larkin and father, Scott Smith of Post Falls, Grand Parents, Clay and Deanna Larkin, of Post Falls, Aunt & Uncle Alison and Jeff McArthur, of Spokane Valley, Grandmother Lowan Smith, of Pinehurst, Uncle Cory Smith, and Aunt Megan Smith of Post Falls. Godmother and Godfather Virginia and Ron Nelson, of Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Uncle Rich Larkin, of New York, and his many friends and extended family in the Harrison area.
