"Dickie" as we knew Richard, was born only a few hours before my mom Mabel Sanborn (turning 94 yrs old this year) went into labor and Richard's dad Bob, drove her to the same Hospital Doris was in, then walked the floor in place of my dad who was also a MP Sargent but was out on patrol, (Bob then got him an emergency leave to come home).
Bob, Doris and Richard Martin were close friends and neighbors for many years and we have fond memories and pictures of outings our family's made together and at their Farm in Fairfield.
