Richard Michael Martin, 69, of Post Falls, Idaho passed away November 24, 2015 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Richard was born December 18, 1945 in Spokane, Washington to Robert and Doris (Pottratz) Martin.
Richard attended and graduated from Liberty High School in Spangle, Washington in 1964. Soon after High School he joined the United States Air Force and served two tours during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge Richard moved to the Fairfield, Washington area. There he took over the family farm and worked the farm until 1990 when he moved to Idaho. In Idaho he worked restoring cars until 1995 until he went out on his own.
Richard was very talented and was known to be able to fix anything. He repaired guns, clocks, and of course cars. He was also a collector of various items including model planes, military patches, guns, coins, and knives.
Richard is survived by his wife Leslie of the family home in Post Falls, Idaho; two sons Frank Martin of Rosalia, Washington, and Bob Martin of Spokane, Washington; one daughter D.J. Martin of Spokane, Washington; three grandchildren Jillian, Wyatt, and Morgun; and his first wife Micki Harnois of Rockford, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Richard’s life will be held Saturday December 5, 2015 at 11:30 – 2:00 P.M. at Rancho Viejo Mexican Restaurant 2525 E. Seltice Way Post Falls, Idaho. An Inurnment Service will be held at Pines Cemetery in Spokane, Washington at 3:00 P.M.
