Obituary of Ronald Walter Sears
Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ronald Walter Sears was born June 3, 1946 in Flint, MI to Walt and Peg Sears. His family moved to Hammond, IN and then when he was 13, to El Paso, TX where he lived from 1959 to 1972. He married Betsy Cutting on November 25, 1972 and they had three children: Titus Timothy, Mary Beth, and Andrew Paul Brady. He and Betsy lived in Roswell, NM, Pasadena, CA, and El Paso, TX. In 1996 they moved to Coeur d’ Alene, ID where Betsy still resides.
Ron succumbed to Alzheimer’s on December 26, 2015. His occupations included brakeman for the railroad, painter, typewriter repairman, and wallpaper hanger. But what he really loved to do was to minister to people and share the love of Jesus. He used to say that he was a forgiven and forgettin’ Christian.
His passions were fishing, traveling in Mexico, and going on cruises. He loved to take his family on vacations to state parks, to Disneyland, and to see loved ones. And he loved to talk to everyone. No one was a stranger.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his half-brother Robert, his half-sister Connie, and his younger brother David. He is survived by his wife Betsy, his children, his younger brother Bill, his twin sisters Juliana and Mariana and 6 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Real Life Ministries, 1866 N. Cecil Rd, Post Falls, ID on Saturday January 2, 2016 at 6:00 pm. A potluck reception will be held immediately following the service.
