Obituary of Gerald Tetsuo Kuwada

Please share a memory of Gerald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Gerry passed away peacefully on June 15, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was the first-born child of Kazuo and Kazuko Kuwada on September 26th, 1948, in Spokane Washington.

He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane. He did his undergraduate studies at Eastern Washington University, then studied medicine at San Francisco School of Podiatry. He did his residency in Philadelphia, and eventually established his medical practice in Renton Washington.

Gerry enjoyed attending family gatherings, playing basketball, racquetball, pickle-ball, meditating, reading, traveling, spending time with friends, and eating good food. He loved his work as a Podiatrist and seemed to be fueled by the connections he made through helping his patients.

Gerry is survived by his wife, Caroline; three children, Brett (Michele), Brandon (Victoria), and Kali (David); four siblings, Barbara (Ronald) Fukuji, Stanley (Mary), Kevin (Carol), and Grant; and his four grandchildren; Quinn, Fiona, Kyler, and Kinley. He is also survived by many loving family members and countless friends.

A gathering celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Seattle Buddhist Church Gymnasium, 14427 S. Main Street, Seattle, WA 98144, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
