Obituary of Byron Dale Volkerts
Byron Dale Volkerts or Dale as he preferred to be called, passed away at his Post Falls home on March 4, 2019 at the age of 70 after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family.
He was born 9-11-1948 in Two Rock, CA to June Viola Bonham and William Louis Volkerts. He served 4 years in the U. S. Navy and was a very proud Seabee. Upon separation from the Navy, he married his wife Patricia A. Morin May 2, 1971 in Pawtucket, RI
He became a Journeyman Ironworker out of Local 229 in San Diego where the family lived for 25 years. They brought up three beautiful daughters, Kimberly Garland, Stephanie Sewell and Christyne Powers.
He is also survived by his sister Cheryl Thurman, Bonnie Truitt, Martha Glass and brother Allen Volkerts, 8 grandchildren and one great granddaughter, also many nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
