Rod was a very dear friend to me. We had many great times (hunting, camping, partying, etc.). Rod was always so entertaining to be around. I remember above all else his famous quote that had an effect on me for a very long, long, long time. He said "Honest Terry, just one jigger". But, that's another story. I miss you a lot Buddy.

I remember the first time I was introduced to Rod. I couldn't help but stare. That man had the biggest arms on him I had ever seen. I thought he would split out that short sleeved shirt he was wearing. He lived in a house with a short ceiling that made him look like a giant. Compared to most men I guess he was. In demeanor as well as stature. He was a giant teddy bear. Funny with a strange sense of humor. All I have to do is read the "Pickles" cartoon to remember Rod. When Kirk was little I kept telling him to eat his food so he could grow up to be big like his daddy. Didn't take him long to figure out that he didn't want to be big like daddy he wanted to big like Uncle Rod. I don't think I ever seen the man mad. But boy have I seen him laugh! I will miss that so very much. Love and miss your funny face and humor my friend.

Uncle Rod was one of the most kindest men I've ever known. He was so proud of his family and loved all of us with his whole being and made sure that we knew that up until his last moments. Our family gatherings will always be the most special memories in my heart. And, luckily, they weren't few and far between. Our family was so close that "family gatherings" were just what we did! And I am so thankful that my daughters were a part of that tradition and grew up knowing just how wonderful a man their Great Uncle Rod was. We all miss you dearly Uncle Rod. But please rest peacefully knowing that your love of family was passed down to us all and that it will forever be a standard for all of us and our children, and now... our children's beautiful children. We will always love you Uncle Rod. And we'll always miss you!

I will never forget the day Rodney told me he considered me his daughter. Made me tear up and feel the love of his heart and Doreen. You have always inspired me and made myself, my husband Dave and my kids Kimberly, Richard and Sammantha feel part of the family. Also the stories we shared of the kids and the fun they put us through. I love you Rod and Doreen forever.

Rodney Dale Christianson. There is so many positive words to describe this man and yet, it is hard to choose just one. He had so many titles: Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather and he was proud of every single one. Even in his old age, he continued to make everyone around him laugh, smile, and forget the negatives when around him. He had the biggest heart, caring for those he barely knew and those he knew everything about equally. There's so many things he did for us in his lifetime, expecting nothing back but perhaps a laugh and a genuine smile. I remember his many jokes, he never took life too seriously and that was one of his greatest qualities. His laughter and smile will forever leave a mark on our souls and memory. I know for a fact every time someone goes to eat, his joke of "Did you know? That gets in your mouth!" He was one of those rare, unique people that could leave an impact on every person he met and I know for an absolute fact, Rodney Dale Christianson will never, ever, be forgotten. In this lifetime or the next.

My heart is with you Aunty 'Rine and with your kids. I loved Uncle Rod very dearly. I will never forget Uncle Rod's sense of humor, the way he made me laugh, his stories (especially the jokes he shared with Grandma Velma), or the love her had for all the kids. He will always be dearly missed.

To my husband: I remember the first day I met you when you walked through the door at your house you shared with Dave and it wasn't long that we became best friends. Little did I know we would be together for over 52 years. I remember our first "I love you". I remember when we said "I do". I remember our years together through great times and hard times. You always made me laugh even when I was mad. You never let me stay that way. I remember all the love and happiness we shared with our children. The years we spent with a loving family but most of all I remember the day you left me with the biggest heartache I will ever know. My heart is broken for the loss of my greatest love. I can't understand why someone so precious had to go...we still had a lot to do. Ask God to give me the strength to get me through this heartache of going on without you.
